I was blessed to have a mother (and father and husband) who, after study, took the Bible literally. She had excellent teachers. For the longest time, I thought everyone took the scriptures literally – but alas, no.
Take this scriptures below. It means exactly what is says:
Mark 11:24 (KJV) – Therefore I (Jesus) say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
TPT version – This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer—believe that you have received it and it will be yours.
JESUS says that whatever you desire, when you pray, believe you receive it (right then before you see it) and it will be yours. You have it. Being a faith-filled believer, you are not going to ask for wrong things. God will correct you if you tried!
Of course, there are some rules like verse 23. It says you should not doubt in your heart in order to receive. How?
3 John 1;2 states “Beloved, in regard to all things I pray that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.” Your soul is your mind, your will and your emotions.
Your prosperity and health depend on your soul prospering – being full of God’s Word. Filling your soul with what God says about prosperity and healing. That is what cancels out doubt. I heard a minister say it this way: “Low Word level, low faith level.
Read your Bible with understanding (ask God for help). Watch faith-based Podcasts. Read faith-based books and articles (like on cfaith.com.) Fill up.
Then notice verse 25 (CJB): “And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him/her; so that your Father in heaven may also forgive your offenses.” Forgive everyone no matter what. Cleans your slate between you and God.
It IS between you and God, not you and that person. It clears offense out of your heart: insult, hurt, and anything the devil wants you to hold on to that will come between you and God.
And enjoy your prosperity and HEALING. By taking the Bible literally.
