Did God just willy-nilly chose Job to lose everything that he had? His sons’ lives, his money and his health? Did He turn Job over to satan on purpose, with no rhyme or reason for it?
Many believers and ministers believe this.
There is one little scripture that actually explains what happened. And it wasn’t because of God’s desire or choice.
If you go to Job 3, you will find Job whining. mumbling, murmuring, and complaining. He starts out cursing his day. And look at Verse 25
Job 3:25 (MKJV) – For the thing which I greatly feared has come upon me, and that which I was afraid of has come to me.
If you know anything about God or the Bible, you know the importance of the words of your mouth; what you say. You know the importance of what you believe and meditate on.
Job apparently spent a LOT of time worrying about his kids and self. He spent a LOT of time talking wrong words. He had no faith in God. He had faith in the devil. He was in “what if” land. “What if my kids are sinning?” “What if bad things happen?” “I better offer sacrifices for them just in case.”
He was afraid. He was in fear. He drew what he didn’t want into his life. He opened the door to give satan the freedom to ask God for the right to mess with Job.
Fear works like faith. You get what you believe. Job brought on what happened. He actually invited satan in by how he talked, acted and believed.
That is why “FEAR NOT” is in the Bible 365 times. One for each day of the year.
FEAR is the devil’s playground, his operating system. He doesn’t play fair and he wants you in fear so he can work. He needs your words of fear. He needs your doubt and unbelief. Or better, your faith in his words, his fear and for you to speak his words.
Just like FAITH is God’s operating system. He needs your faith so He can work. He needs your words of faith. He needs your confidence and belief in Him. Or better, your faith in HIS Word and words, and for you to speak His words.
What happened to Job happens to Christians every day. They live lives of loss and defeat because of the words of their mouth and what they believe.
God wans to help you
Psalms 141:3 (AMPC) – Set a guard, O Lord, before my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips.
Mark 4:24a (CJB) – He (Jesus) also said to them, “Pay attention to what you are hearing …
