LIDT: You Are Forgiven: Yes, Even From THAT

Growing up, and even on into my adult years, I was always aware that I wasn’t “enough” – holy enough, good enough, perfect enough, worthy enough, anything enough.

When I got saved at 12, I knew I was going to heaven, but. Nothing could get rid of the feeling of not being good enough, clean enough.  I didn’t know there was a devil causing all that trouble with me. He was always dropping constant thought reminders of mistakes I’d made in the past.

It was years later that I learned three very important Bible verses (which is why it is important to read your Bible and listen to faith-based teaching). It still took awhile to learn other truths about forgiveness but today I’ll stick with these three:

Micah 7:19b …  And You (God) cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Psalms 103:12a  As far as the east is from the west, so far has He (God) removed our transgressions (sins) from us…

1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sin (every single one, every single time) and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If you don’t know you are forgiven and have a clean slate, you will be beaten up by the devil. He’ll constantly remind you of every little thing you’ve ever done wrong in your entire life (including stealing apples from a neighbor’s tree as a kid).

When you get saved, EVERYTHING you ever did is forgiven, including murder (you may have to pay the world’s price but you are going to heaven). You are cleaned up. After you get saved, you apply 1 John 1:9 (which is for believer’s not sinners) – and you are right back to being clean again.

If you allow the devil to waste your time with reminders of your past – especially when Jeremiah 31:34b says God will never again remember your sins (unless you keep reminding Him) – then the devil has captured your future by keeping you in the past. Just say NO!

In these times we are living in, it is dangerous to let the devil have anything in your life. It will hinder your faith – and everything from God works by faith. This includes provision and protection. You can’t have guilt and faith at the same time. One or the other.

Let go the guilt. Let go the lies of the devil (you ARE worthy, good, clean, forgiven, holy, etc., because Jesus made you so). When the devil tries to remind you of the past, boldly confess that God has forgiven and cleansed you, and then you forget it because God has forgotten it!

Then get on with the most wonderful days ahead – just for you, a forgiven, clean, righteous, protected, blessed, worthy, holy child of the Most High God. He says you are – so you are!

  1. When thoughts of the past come to mind, I am prompted to thank God again for His mercy and grace and again acknowledge that this “past” is under the blood of Jesus. ?
