Do you know that when people say the Bible contradicts itself or is confusing that they are simply people who haven’t really read the Bible? They don’t know what it says!
Let’s take one topic – IF you love Jesus:
John 8:42a Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: …
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Pretty easy to understand, isn’t it?!? IF you love Jesus, you will obey what He says to do – His words, His commandments and the first one, His Father is your Father. JESUS said this.
This holiday season, remember that it is easy to say you love Jesus but the truth is, IF you love Jesus, you will obey what He says. This means you walk in love. This means you spend time with Him and your Bible. This means whatever His Word (Bible) says, you do it. This means you don’t gossip. This means you help those less fortunate than you are. This means you don’t get snarky (sarcastic).
This means you remember:
JESUS is the only reason for the season!
Jesus isn’t willing that anyone should perish. He wants everyone to be saved. However, He won’t be our Savior unless we are willing to make Him our LORD (obedience!)
