Vicious Ravenous Bully Beasts

Jer 1:8  Be not afraid of their faces:
for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

Troll Face
Anonymous Ugly

Recently I began following a youtube channel. The channel is about all things makeup, products, tools, ideas, and what not to purchase (because it’s a waste of money).

This woman, Tati, has a wonderful sweet spirit, is open and transparent, funny, honest, and I enjoy listening to her. The other day she announced she was following a dream she had and had produced (and was selling) a skin, hair and nail supplement she had been working on for years.

Now it isn’t important that it is a supplement. What caught my eye was her excitement in being able to begin walking in her dream. She spent time and money to follow this dream. She was thrilled to be able to begin her dream of her own brand. I was thrilled for her because I love stories of people who follow their dreams.

What is important is that when some people found out it was a health supplement (rather than her own makeup line), they became vicious ravenous bully beasts. Some freaked about the price (which was comparable to other supplemental products). Some questioned her ability to create this product. Others immediately began making youtube videos coming against the product (that just came out 2 days ago).

They just tore her up. It was actually shocking. The same people who were willing to plop down their credit cards and go into debt to buy makeup from her became ugly because they disagreed with her dream. They were self-righteous. They were cruel. They became so vicious she had to disable the comments.

Unfortunately, I had to disable comments due to too much negativity that reached beyond questions & concerns as they turned into personal attacks.”  WHO DOES THAT? Who would attack someone they’d followed for so long simply because they didn’t like HER dream?

Vicious ravenous bully beasts, that’s who. Judgmental non-dreaming people.

It seems to have become completely acceptable to attack people viciously online. I don’t mean teenagers (or elementary) in junior high and high school. I’m talking supposed mature adult women (some men) saying things you’d never dream would come out of their mouths (or typing fingers).

This goes along with JUDGING (click here for last post on judging). It has become “cool” to be sarcastic, judgmental, and nasty, especially in social media. To attack people who dare to have opinions the opposite of yours. The more people you can get to agree with your sarcasm and opinion apparently makes you popular:

roaring angry woman sized

Yeah, we should ALL want to look like this woman above. Not.

There are reasons God is against judging. God says,

Luke 6:37 (GNB) “Do not judge others, and God will not judge you; do not condemn others, and God will not condemn you; forgive others, and God will forgive you.”

These are not suggestions. It is spiritual law. I like the saying, “What goes around comes around” or “as you sow, so shall you reap.”  (Galatians 6:7-8a)

Judging creates strife. Strife means “vigorous or bitter conflict, discord and antagonism; to quarrel, struggle or clash; competition; rivalry.”

Strife opens the door to the devil (James 3:16). It gives him permission to bring confusion and evil into our lives. That’s why he’s always pushing for us to argue with, get offended, or get critical of one another. It gives him access to us!

Go in love and guard diligently against strife and judgment.  Think before you hit that “enter” or “post” button. Are you judging someone? Are you walking in love, God’s way? Are you messing with someone’s dream?

STOP. It may just save your life (not to mention your own dreams).

  1. Oh my gosh. This was a very powerful point. It really is easy to get caught up in social media without once remembering that God may not agree with what you are doing and saying. Thank you for the good post.

  2. It really is not good to rain on ones parade. I cannot imagine treating another persons dream like that even if you don’t understand it. It is not your dream so if you don’t agree with it keep your mouth shut.
    Just not right!

    1. You’re right – it really IS not right. And it seems to be getting worse – and the most surprising people are joining in. Dreams are personal and not up for public consumption (and being chewed up by Negative Nellies)!
