I read a story about a family and Ephesians 1:21 and Philippians 2:9-10.

A woman and her husband were dealing with his very serious illness. Doctors had given them no hope about the discovered cancer.

As she was reading her Bible one morning, she came across this passage of scripture and the words that Jesus’ name is far above: “…every name that is named.” She also recalled in Philippians: “God exalted Him and gave Jesus a name (or authority) above every name. At that name EVERY knee shall bow!”

She thought to herself, “Cancer is a name and Jesus’ Name has authority above it. So because of that I can say, ‘Cancer, you have to bow to the authority of Jesus and His name, and leave, now!’” And she did say that continually.

This woman and her husband stood on that Word from God that this cancer had to bow its knee to the power of God and the Authority in the Name of Jesus. They claimed his healing. Her husband was miraculously and completely healed.

What name is in your life today that is keeping you from living your life abundantly (John 10:10b)?  Poverty? Bills? Debt? Rebellious kids? Lack? Needs? Sickness? Disease? Divorce? Loneliness?  Anything less than abundant life is evil – hurtful, calamitous, bad for you. Jesus paid a heavy price for you to have an abundant life.

Act on it by speaking it out in a similar way the woman did. Faith is speaking the Word of God when everything around you says the opposite. God says you are healed, whole, sound, prosperous, safe, protected, and live an abundant life!

Stand on that Word today until your life lines up with John 10:10b – abundant life! Stand until you get what you’re standing there for.
