I love studying what the original meaning is of certain words in the Bible. Most people are aware that the most used version, the King James Version, is NOT necessarily using the original meaning. The original Bible was written in Hebrew and Greek. Studying really opens your eyes to how translations can totally miss out on what God meant.

Take the word “ask” in this scripture.  Ask comes from the same Greek word that is translated “to demand” and means to demand something due. Also includes “to call for” and “to require.” In other words, Jesus was saying, “Whatever you demand, call for and require in My Name, My Father will do it for you.”

Now I know some of you are shaking your heads and thinking, “I wouldn’t DARE demand anything from Jesus! Don’t you know Who He is? Isn’t it rude to demand anything like that?”

JESUS is saying to you, “Demand your rights. I died for you to have them and they are already yours”. You have a right and permission to do this – to demand your rights. It’s not rude if Jesus is telling you that you can demand.

You have a right to use the name of Jesus, You have a right to demand the many things He died to give you – health, prosperity, healing, deliverance, safety, soundness., saving of your loved ones, long life, The Blessing. These are some of YOUR rights. They are given to you – so TAKE THEM by faith!
