As a Christian, there are many reasons why we need to put God’s Word (the Bible) first place in our life*. First and foremost is that God and His Word are One. (John 1:1) Basically, to read the Bible is to understand and know God, His ways, His will.
People believe that “man” wrote the Bible. Man may have written it down but all scripture is inspired by God. (2 Timothy 3:16)
God’s Word is God’s Will. You want to know what His will is? Read His Word. God’s words will tell you what God’s will is.
Among other things, you learn who He is, what His characteristics are, what and why His decisions are, what He wants, and what He’d want you to do in certain situations.
God’s Word is life and health to all your flesh (body).** When you need to believe or “stand” for a healing, it is almost impossible if you aren’t reading your Bible (without a miracle). Why? Read the first sentence of this paragraph.
God’s Word is alive. Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV) states that “For the Word of God is living and active”. That’s how He works. In KJV “quick” means alive.
God’s Word is God speaking to you.** He speaks to us in many ways, but the Bible being His will is one way you’ll know Him, recognize His Voice (inside and through the Word)***
