Leland and I learned more about the reality and workings of the Holy Spirit several years ago. What I’ve learned (since Leland moved to heaven) is that the Holy Spirit really will help you in specific ways.

During prayer, God told me to spend time with the Holy Spirit every morning. To write down every thing He tells me (even if I wasn’t sure if it’s Him or me, or it sounded crazy).

I’ll give you a story that happened – I’ll come back next week for a few more.

I supernaturally found an affordable rent house (story later) after I moved back to Arkansas. During one prayer time, He told me not to get too settled. That this was not a forever home.

Almost 2 years later, for a couple of weeks, I’d slacked off a little spending every morning with Him. During the day, He kept asking me to come spend time with Him. (It wasn’t an audible voice, just within me.) I would say, “Yes, I will” – but then I’d get sidetracked. I was “too busy” dealing with storage unit boxes. 

A few days later, my landlady came by the house. I thought she needed to raise the rent. But no. The Holy Spirit had tried to warn me. She needed to sell the house.

She felt it would take awhile to sell, so she gave me two months to move. I was at total peace and suddenly opened my mouth and said that it wouldn’t take any time at all. I told her since she’d been good to me, God says He would bless those who bless me (Genesis 12:3). 

The house sold in three (3) days.

The Holy Spirit told me NOT to run all over town looking for a new rent home. Just trust Him. He said to continually speak right over the situation and not to panic. 

The landlady told the buyers I had two months before I had to be out. The buyer came back a few days later and asked if I could be out by the end of the month. The Holy Spirit told me ti say “yes”.  The Holy Spirit reminded me to stay at peace. 

A day or two before my “be out” date, my son called and told me about a house that had been listed. We found out later it had been listed a while but not anywhere we’d seen it.

We met with the landlord, the house was absolutely perfect. It was far better than the one I was moving out of. My son got me moved, just in time.  I’m still here. And God, the Holy Spirit and Jesus are still very active in my life!
