John 8:42-44
Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

“My dad can beat up your dad!” Man, those used to be fighting words between two little boys. If someone dared to act like THEIR dad was better than you’re dad, many kids hit the dirt in a fisty-cuff scuffle! Nothing could made the hands come up into clenched fists faster and cause a flying lunge toward the one who dared impugn your dad! That guy was going down!!
When an unsaved person comes up and states, ‘MY father can stomp your Father! MY father can do really bad things and make the whole world believe it was your Father who did it!” do we stand up for our Father or do we back down in agreement to the other person?
Too often it is the latter because people think the devil is powerful and on equal terms with God. Have you heard that before? Where God is the good one, all good and the devil is the evil one, all evil and they are equal but opposite beings?
Well I got news for all those people – PUT YOUR DUKES UP! My Father is the Creator of the universe, the All Mighty One, the God above all gods. Their “father” is the father of all lies, a complete liar AND is nothing but a fallen angel and who never created anything. He is not THE God. He is simply a little god of this world; a defeated foe who was soundly beaten at Calvary.
Just because a person stands in a barn, that does not make them a cow. Just because the enemy is loud and obvious does not make him an all powerful being. And just because he is active in a Christian’s life through his seeming weapons of mass destruction – poverty, disease, sickness, loss, lack, destruction – anything under the curse of the law mentioned in Deuteronomy – that does not mean he has the right to defeat us automatically.
There is a little scripture that people have ignored for years. Proverbs 26:2b: “…the curse causeless shall not come.” The curse cannot come into your life without a reason. The NAB translation calls it an “uncalled curse.” This is backed up in Deuteronomy when it says the curses will come on your life if you don’t listen to God’s voice (His Word, the Bible) and obey what you read there.
Even though Jesus purchased our freedom at the Cross and paid for us to be free from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13), unless we receive that freedom, we stay in bondage. The devil has NO rights into our life except where WE give him rights.
Even though we may not believe we give the devil the right to come in and bring destruction, to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10), every time we speak or believe something opposite of what God says, we open the door to the enemy to come work in our lives. When we speak opposite of the Word of God, we call the curse into our life.
There are only two choices available to us on this earth – life and death, which God calls: “The Blessing and the curse”. God even gave us an open book test when He gave us the answer in Deuteronomy 30:19. He said: CHOOSE LIFE. CHOOSE THE BLESSING.
So in 2015, let’s not believe The Liar. Don’t believe anything that is contrary to what God has to say. Anytime that wrong thought about your Father comes to you, just think, “PUT YOUR DUKES UP.” Pull down that wrong thought; don’t allow it to stay in long enough to become stronger that God’s Word.
Then you will walk in The Blessing and 2015 will be an awesome year for you!
