Do you like where you are in life right now? Are you happy with the way things are going? Or do you wish you could be living in a better place? What if I told you that changing your words may change your life?
One of the most important lessons Leland and I have learned is the power of the words of our mouth. I probably speak on this topic more than any other simply because most of us vomit out garbage when we open our mouths! Harsh? So is living the results of our wrong words.
For faith to work, it has to be in two places – our heart and our mouth. Look at the word “salvation”. The world salvation used in Romans 10:10 carries these meanings (from Strong’s Concordance): rescue or safety (physically or morally): – deliver, health, salvation, save, saving” and (“safe”); to save, that is, deliver or protect (literally or figuratively): – heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole.
Let’s look at it this way, “for with the heart, man believes and with (his own) mouth, confession is made unto healing.” Or, “confession is made unto doing well” or “confession is made unto financial prosperity” or “confession is made unto being made whole in every area of life.”
God has a lot to say about healing, health, doing well, financial prosperity – find those words in your Bible and begin speaking them!
God said in His word that He takes pleasure in the prosperity of His people (Psalm 35:27). God said that He wants us NOT to forget His benefits to us (Psalm 103) such as:
He forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases
He redeems us from death and crowns us with loving kindness and tender mercies
He fills our lives with good things. Our youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
By obeying Him and lining our mouths up to agree with His words, we open the door for those words to come to pass in our lives.
In case you think, “It’s too hard to speak that way” stop and realize that you are already living the results of the words of your mouth. If you don’t like those results, change what you are saying. (Matthew 12:34)
Faith won’t even work for you if you don’t release it with the words of your mouth. If you say nothing, you receive nothing. If you speak God’s Word, you will receive what He promised. You can only pre-program your mouth to speak right words, His words, by spending time in your Bible. But, it works.
It’s that simple!
You have His Word on it.
I really need to get a handle on my words. Just keep telling me and it will sink in.
Very good! I still find myself speaking wrong but I recognize it now and quickly fix it. I found it amazing how much junk I had allowed in from the world. Continue to eradicate the worlds words and replace with Gods words.
So good, Nan! I completely agree. I am so much further with this very thing. God has been so good to be patient with me. There is so much power in our words! Great blog!
