Matthew 6:31  Therefore take NO thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (in other words, don’t worry, stress, fret)

Verse 33 states that God knows we have need of all those things and goes on to tell us to seek Him.

Matthew 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

I became a Christian when I was 12 years old. From that point until a few years ago, I had NO idea how to go about doing what Matthew says to do. I finally discovered it wasn’t as deep as some pastors make it.  It just basically means “DO things His way”.

Like if He says “forgive” then you forgive. If He says “tithe” then you tithe (give 10 percent of gross income). If He says “love everyone” then you love everyone.

Also I wanted what it meant to SEEK God. Was He lost? Was He hard to find? Was it a deep secret?

Nope. Today, I did something I should have done before: studied this. Since the New Testament was written in a form of Koine Greek, I looked up the original Greek meaning of the word “seek”.

I find in the Strong’s Concordance that G2212 (seek) means, not to just look for His way of doing things but to worship Him (by doing things His way). The definition also asks you to compare it to G4441 which means: “to question, that is, ascertain by inquiry (as a matter of information merely)”

What does that mean to us? Well, you have the right to ASK God what His ways are. How does He operate in this certain situation? What would He do about that one? What should I do about this? How can I do this Your way?

Doing that will lead you to trusting Him and His ways – thus setting yourself up that He is your provider. And He will take good care of you.
