LIDT: Don’t Do It Afraid

2 Timothy 1:7  (NKJV) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Do you realize that fear is a spirit? It comes to rob you of your peace of mind. It comes to convince you that you are afraid because you FEEL afraid.

Even more importantly, do you realize that just because you FEEL fear does not mean you ARE afraid? Fear comes to invite you to be afraid but you have to make a choice to give in to it.

I have heard the saying, “Do it afraid” –  and that is complete and utter hog wash. Nonsense. A lie of the devil. Why do I say this? Because if fear is a spirit and you think it is OK to entertain that spirit, you are entertaining the devil in his own playground.

Remember, there is “world wisdom” versus God’s wisdom. James 3:17 states that God’s wisdom is first always pure and then filled with peace. “Doing it afraid” is NOT filled with peace. It sounds good and holy but it is NOT.  You won’t find God telling you to have ANYTHING to do with fear.

James 4:7 Message version, “So let God work His will in you. Yell a loud no to the devil and watch him scamper.

Begin saying only what God has given you, “I do NOT have a spirit of fear. God didn’t give me fear so I won’t accept it. I have a spirit of power, love and a sound mind!”

Yes, at first it may seem hard – fear really feels real. But then imagine this spirit of fear scampering away from you.  To scamper means to move in a hurry. That fear, that spirit, runs away from YOU.

That only leaves you boldly standing there (with God), “doing it” in boldness, peace, and power.

And in these times we are living in – that is a far better place to be!

Deuteronomy 31:6  Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.
