God in the Boonies #3 & #4

People wonder why I’m telling these stories. Because I want to. They show how God will answer prayers, no matter how many times there is a need. He is faithful. He cares about the tiniest details in our life. Good internet might seem like a silly thing to ask for, but I now have proof, since 1995, that God always provides, always cares about what we care about.

In 2010 we bought a house on the opposite side of the main town from where our former house was. Internet service that was available in that area was sketchy. We called our former ISP and discovered that because of where the house was located, they covered that area. After they came to hook us up, the technician informed us they had just upgraded their plans. We qualified for an excellent (and their FASTEST) plan. It really was superb internet. Only God!

After we moved to Texas in 2019, we rented a charming place in Buffalo and it was definitely boonies – down an empty dirt road (no neighbors, just cattle) with one house a mile down at the dead end. The house only had wall phone plug-ins. It had never had DSL service.

When we called for service, we were informed it would take s couple of weeks before someone could come and see if we were eligible for service. Mainly they hadn’t had service out in the area before.’

We thanked God and expected to qualify. This company was new to the area. When the serviceman arrived, he did all sorts of checks, then informed us we were eligible. He would have to wire the house and the whole set up was free!

We had one issue after he left – placing the wire into the house via the garage interrupted some bees. They felt territorial and thought they had a right to stay around. Leland told them differently. He used that spray foam and sealed off all entrances.

We had the fastest internet ever. Only God.  Our church services came in clear, smooth, no interruptions.

I’ll tell the next to last story next week! It may be short enough for the last two.
