Grateful, Thankful, Praise

You can pass through His open gates
with the password of praise.
Come right into His presence with thanksgiving.
Come bring your thank offering to Him
and affectionately bless His beautiful name!

Psalms 100:4

In the United States, today is Thanksgiving. People have pretty much given over to this day being a time to eat much food. Turkey, cornbread dressing, mashed sweet potatoes and white potatoes, some kind of vegetable, and then – PUMPKIN PIE.

In truth, this day is about thanksgiving – gratitude – praise for our God. Thanksgiving is one of God’s Days.

This Thanksgiving, it is vital that as a family, we set aside some time to give thanks to God. Bring Him a “thank offering”. Let Him know that we are His and He is ours.

God has His hand on His people. I believe today this “thank offering” is a form of protection. It is similar to the story in Exodus 12, when the Israelites were told to place the blood of a blemish-free lamb to the side and top of their door posts. The death angel passed by those houses.

There is much to BE grateful for. We can all dig deep and find something, then tell God.

Psalms 100:5 – For the Lord is always good and ready to receive you. He’s so loving that it will amaze you—so kind that it will astound you! And he is famous for his faithfulness toward all. Everyone knows our God can be trusted, for he keeps his promises to every generation!

  1. It is important to thank Him for all He has done. Maybe things have not gone the way we were expecting but as we look back did you go left when He was saying go right? The one thing to remember even if we took a wrong turn He still loves us and is still with us.
