Troubling Times Part 1

Sinking boat

Luke 21:26: Men’s hearts failing them for fear,
and for looking after those things
which are coming on the earth:

All you have to do is read the headlines now days and you get an understanding of what the world is facing.  People are desperate. They are selling their precious personal things simply trying to pay their bills.

There are diseases spreading like wildfire.  Things are creating fear in people that they or their family members are going to catch whatever is going on and die.

People are losing jobs, businesses are going out, prices skyrocket but it seems to some that there is never enough for basics like gas and food.

news

So do you think God was caught off guard by all this? Lost jobs?  Disease (like Ebola and weirdly named flu)? The high grocery prices and higher gasoline prices? NO!

Actually He warned that these things would come. He also taught us in His Word how to be prepared in this time and how to be prosperous when all around you are falling apart. We do not have to participate in what the world participates in. We have a Secret Place.

Bible

It is all a matter of where your focus is, Who your focus is on, what your focus is on as your source (and it is not your job), and how you keep your focus focused! Those who remain steadfast in God’s Word have the advantage of knowing that God gives them victory every time.

Watch what you read, listen to or watch. There is a lot of fear mongering going on and the more you focus on it, the more you are going to feed fear into your spirit.

Then the next thing you know, you’ll starting being afraid. “I’m afraid I won’t be able to afford gasoline AND groceries.” “How am I going to pay my bills if things keep going the way they are?” “Did you hear there is going to be a food shortage?”  “I heard about that horrid disease and it’s spreading! I’m afraid I’m going to catch it!!”

The truth is, thing are going to keep getting tighter for the world and unbelievers – especially those who do not believe in God’s provision or come against the prosperity message of God. Pay attention here: this means non-Christians AND Christians alike. Why? Many Christians as not believers.  Many Christians do not believe what the Bible says or believe that the Bible is God talking to them.

This is what the Bible says about it:

Matthew 9:29: …According to your faith be it unto you.

Matthew 9:22: …thy faith hath made thee whole.

Mathew 15:28: O woman, great is your faith: be it unto you even as you will

Mark 10:52: Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole

Luke 7:50: Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

Mark 9:23: Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Things will go according to YOUR faith. YOUR faith is the connection between making it and not making it. If you don’t make it, it is according to what you believe.

If you do make it, it is according to what you believe. Like Jesus said, all things are possible but that is not for everyone. It is only for those who BELIEVE.

Check your “believer” today. Find your areas of weakness and strengthen them by building your faith back up through the Word of God – reading your Bible and faith-based books and articles, and listening to faith-based ministers through television, CDs, DVDs and downloads.

Get your focus back on God’s word, quit worrying and learn to enjoy God’s goodness.

God is Good, always and in all ways!
