Do you like where you are in life right now? Are you happy with the way things are going? Or do you wish you could be living in a better place?
One of the most important lessons we can learn is the power of the words of our mouth. I probably speak on this topic more than any other simply because of how important it is. Most of us vomit out garbage when we open our mouths! Harsh? So is living the results of our wrong words.
For faith to work, it has to be in two places – our heart and our mouth. Today’s lesson is meant to open your eyes to something very vital – the word “salvation.” The word salvation in Romans 10:10 carries these meanings (from Strong’s Concordance): rescue or safety (physically or morally): – deliver, health, salvation, save, saving” and (“safe”); to save, that is, deliver or protect (literally or figuratively): – heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole, prosper.
So when you take the scripture in Romans 10:10, “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” and have it only mean “going to heaven” you cut off all those others meanings.
Let’s look at it this way, “for with the heart, man believes unto righteousness (right standing with God) and with (his own) the mouth, confession is made unto healing.” Or, “confession is made unto doing well” or “confession is made unto being made whole in every area of life” or “confession is made unto prospering financially“.
In other words, when you believe, then you speak what you believe. If you believe God wants you healed, then you will speak what He has to say about it – words geared toward health, not sickness.
Or finances – no matter what it looks like right now, if you will made your mouth speak unto “financial prosperity” things will begin to turn around. God has a lot to say about financial prosperity – find those words in the Bible and begin speaking them!
God said in His word that He takes pleasure in my prosperity (Psalm 35:27).
God said that He wants me NOT to forget His benefits to me (Psalm 103) such as:
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases
He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies
He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s
By obeying Him and lining our mouths up to agree with His words, we open the door for those words to come to pass in our lives. We are where we are through our words or His words. Once we exchange our wrong, negative words for His words, everything will change.
In case you think, “It’s too hard to speak that way” stop and realize that you are already living the results of the words of your mouth. If you don’t like those results, change what you are saying. (Matthew 12:34)
Remember, faith won’t even work for you if you don’t release it with the words of your mouth. If you say nothing, you receive nothing. If you speak God’s Word, you will receive what He promised.
It’s that simple!
Very good points about our words. We have to speak them and of course out of the abundance of our hearts our mouths will speak life or death.
