LIDT: Love Wisdom

Forsake not [Wisdom], and she will keep, defend, and protect you; love her, and she will guard you. Proverbs 4:6 AMPC

Leland did a study about Wisdom a few years back. It is amazing what Wisdom will do for you.

Don’t forsake Wisdom – forsake means “don’t let it go”.  Hang on to Wisdom. Make it important to you. Read about it. Study it. Then by hanging on to Wisdom, she will keep, defend, and protect you;

How do you find and hang on to Wisdom?

James 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask from God, who gives to all freely and with no reproach, and it will be given to him.

Pro 2:6  For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

God’s Word (Bible) is His wisdom. The Bible is where you will find the Wisdom you need. Yes, you should ask for Wisdom from God but He is most often going to direct you to your Bible.

Do a study on the word “wisdom”.  In the King James version alone there are 234 mentions of the word “wisdom” so there is a lot about it in the Bible.

I recommend starting with Proverbs because it tells you what God considers wisdom. There are 54 mentions of it in Proverbs in King James.

Get other translation that help expand your understanding (see below). Try The Amplified. The Message. New Living Translation.

Why not start with Chapter 4? It is chock full of Wisdom – and while you are “seeking Wisdom” you are surrounded and protected by Wisdom! Win Win!!

  1. That is really good. Wisdom is the principle thing but we to often get caught up in everyday stuff and forget about wisdom.

  2. We have to work at it! It’s there, for the taking, but He requires us to SEEK and then not FORSAKE! It’s a continual process . . .
