A Year Without Him

Photo Bombing food picture

So it’s been a year since the most amazing love of my life, the man God sent to me, the one who adopted Joshua and became everything you would want a father to be… left me. He moved out and changed addresses. He went on to heaven without me. I may have something to say to him about that when I see him again.

I have learned a lot. God kept me. He kept me cocooned in this little rent house. He kept me SANE, especially when I wanted to crawl into bed and never get back out. Most of all, He kept me knowledgeable about where Leland is with two books that saved my life.

Kat Kerr, a pink haired lady who has been to heaven 1000’s of times since she was, I believe, 8 years old, wrote two books about her experiences. God told her He wanted her to tell people what heaven was really like – especially since we have NO clue. It’s a FUN place. She’s not the only one who has had this experience; she’s just the most interesting, to me.

The point is, I made a choice a year ago that I would live. I also told God that “I choose to live a supernatural life” by continuing on how Leland and I lived. I chose to do things God’s way. I chose NOT to give in to the grief.

He helped me every single day. He sent things across my pathway to remind me of the importance of living and especially finishing what He wants me to do for Him. He loved me so much and kept me loved up, that today snuck up on me and I was surprised to realize it was the 8th, one year later.

I came across this today: “Life is a miracle and every breath we take is a gift”.  This is a great take on Psalm 150:6. This is what and Who we are supposed to focus on, no matter what.

Did I like my year without him? NO I did not. But I am going to live and yes, thrive. I wrote a post about Leland on my other website, It’s about one of the things I learned… to just keep swimming. (Dory from Finding Nemo movie)

“Let everything that has BREATH praise the Lord…” Psalm 150:6

    1. Nope. I am only strong for ONE reason = Isaiah 26:3 (NLT) You will keep in perfect peace all (Nan) who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You! Without God I would have gone on to heaven, too.

  1. “Just keep swimming”… push on toward the mark of the prize of your high calling. I’m just a little selfish in that I need you. I need your laughs, your wisdom, your encouragement, your motivation, your prayers. Thank you for continuing to swim against the current, against all odds toward that peaceful stream. You make a difference in my life. You inspire me to just keep swimming. I love you, Nan❣️
