Do You Think God Makes Junk?

Do you have ANY idea what Masterpiece means? What it means to you?

In the world, masterpieces are things like the Mona Lisa or The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci. Or The Sistine Chapel’s ceiling by Michelangelo.

One dictionary says about a masterpiece:  a consummate example… of excellence 

I read a minister who stated that “workmanship” means “that which is made, a work of art. All God’s children are HIS masterpieces.”  

Merriam-Webster:  …the creator’s (artist) greatest achievement

Synonyms – and remember, this is what God thinks of you (and not one word means “loser”):

  • classic
  • success
  • gem
  • jewel
  • prize
  • winner
  • treasure
  • pièce de résistance
  • megahit

There is a dictionary that only gives ONE word for an antonym to “masterpiece”.  FAILURE

Now let’s see who belongs to each word – masterpiece versus failure

Ephesians 2:10  (NLT)  For we are God’s Masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. 

John 10:10a (TPT)  A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy…

You are GOD’S workmanship. Do you think HE makes junk? 

You are amazing. You are everything that is good and special. You can do all things (through Jesus). You are capable (no matter what age you are).

GOD says you are these things, so you are. You may not feel, look or act like it, but that is subject to change.  

2 Corinthians 4:18  (GW) We don’t look for things that can be seen but for things that can’t be seen. Things that can be seen are only temporary. But things that can’t be seen last forever. 

YOU ARE God’s Masterpiece.  If you’re not happy with yourself or with circumstances in your life, God says they are temporary. Change your words and start declaring you are a masterpiece.

Ask God to help you see yourself like HE sees you. Ask God to show you what He created you to do. The Bible even says you can know the future (John 16:13).

What God says about you is the truth – so you CAN become God’s vision of you! His Masterpiece.
