He’s a Defeated Foe

Recently  I saw podcasts talking about the growth in the popularity of women saying they were operating as witches. I saw a few titles proclaiming that “you can learn to cast spells on a man you wanted to be interested in and to fall in love with you. They stated the man would have no choice”.

I remember speaking aloud to the screen saying, “A man has a choice if that man belongs to God and is a Christian.” That’s when God reminded me of something that happened years ago.

I had parked my car in a grocery store parking lot. I was walking through the lot, heading to the entry door. I was walking by the employee parking spots and walked in front of a car that had backed in the spot so the front of the car was facing outwardly, toward people.

Where I live we only have one license plate, on the back of the car. Vanity plates are often on the front. The car with its front facing outwardly had a vanity plate proclaiming, “Warlock“. It shocked me for a second until I heard God say very clearly, “I wonder if he knows he is serving a defeated foe?” I laughed and realized that was how God perceives the devil – as a defeated foe – because he is.

So many Christians (and non-Christians alike) don’t seem to know that. As I said in my last post, people give our enemy too much power. Most of the time, it’s simply because they don’t know what the Bible says. Sometimes they don’t know what Jesus died on the cross for. They don’t know Jesus FINISHED His work on that cross when He shed His Blood, died and rose again.

He defeated the devil. Totally and completely. Took away ALL his power over us as Christians. He even gave us the authority over him (Luke 10:19).

People give power to the enemy by believing his lies. They believe he has power over them. They don’t realize they give him that power by believing it. Some run around playing with witchcraft and don’t realize they are not only under his cruse, they are messing with a defeated foe who doesn’t care if they die.

Don’t choose death (John 10:10b). Choose life. (Deuteronomy 30:19-20)
