I’m out of town so am letting a random post be repeated from way back!

Today will be short and sweet! Three very powerful scriptures that should set you free!
1 John 1:9 (CJB) If we acknowledge our sins, then, since he is trustworthy and just, he will forgive them and purify us from all wrongdoing.
Psalm 103:12 (NLT) He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west
Hebrews 8:12 – (HCSB) For I will be merciful to their wrongdoing, and I will never again rmember their sins.
Another translation: (MSG) They’ll get to know me by being kindly forgiven, with the slate of their sins forever wiped clean.
Wiped clean. When we mess up or get off track with God, we just need to confess that to Him (repent), and then He will get us right back on track.
My brother used to have a Hot Wheels race track. Hot Wheels are small cars about 3″ long. They would go around a plastic track slung by some power (probably battery operated). Occasionally something would happen and the car would slip and get off the track, usually flying across the room.
When that happened, all my brother would do was calmly go pick up the car, make sure there was nothing on the wheels (clean it), place it back on the track, and then the car would again whizz around the track. Until the next time it slipped… and he’d repeat.
My brother didn’t give anymore thought to that car coming off the track; it didn’t upset him, he didn’t get angry; if it happened again, he’d just pick it up and put it back on the track. He did that all the time he was interacting with those little cars.
Here’s a bit of advice – when you confess your sin is not when God found out about it. He knew about it all along (the minute you got off track). When you confess it, that’s when you get rid of it and its effects on your life.
Those verses from Psalms and Hebrews make it clear that God not only removes our sin (mess up), He will never again remember it. He wipes the slate clean so you are free to start over, fresh, IMMEDIATELY.
NO matter what the sin mess was, NO guilt, NO condemnation, and NO bringing it back up such as, “Well, you know this isn’t the first time you messed up in this area. You just keep messing up – but I will forgive you again. *hugh sigh*”
Nope, as far as God is concerned, once you repent, He restores and to Him it is as if you NEVER messed up. That means you are free to enjoy the freedom Jesus died on the cross for you to have. You are allowed to walk around as if you never messed up. You can walk with your head held up high and totally forget you messed up…
because God did!
You have His Word on it!
