Your Life: A Result of Your Choices

Choose Blessing or Curse

Sometimes we blame God for the results of bad choices we make. After a wrong choice then something going terribly wrong, we cry, “Why God? Why did this happen to me? Why did YOU do this to me?”

Wrong question. Stay on God’s side. Ask the right questions, “What choice did I make to get here? How do I get out? How do I make sure I never chose this wrong pathway again?  Please show me.”

God sets before us the choices of life and death, blessing and cursing. Then He tells us the right  choice to make by saying, “Choose life” (Deuteronomy 30:19). He wants us to make the right choice.

Many of us are sitting back “waiting on God.”  He is waiting on us. He expects US to take control of our present and future. We do this through our choices and the words of our mouth. Remember Jesus gave us all authority over satan, sickness, disease, and more.

We chose life by doing things His way. We choose to believe what He says. We choose to forgive. We choose to walk in love. We choose to abstain from gossip and judging (which is a form of murder – we murder someone’s reputation). WE choose.

He says that death or life is in our mouth – what we say consistently (Proverbs 18:21). There are no grey areas with God and in life.  Everything we choose to say or do falls either on the blessing side or the curses side. If it comes to “steal, kill and destroy” it is NOT from God (John 10:10).

There is no “Oh, God understands. He knows I didn’t really mean it”.  No, He knows you chose cursing instead of blessing. He knows YOU opened the door to the enemy. The devil doesn’t care what we meant – he cares what we say. Say the wrong things and he swoops down to make them happen.

If your life has things stolen, killed or destroyed – your health, dreams, children going wrong, marriage messed up – ask God where you made wrong choices. Ask Him to help you get back on the pathway to the good life – to the life of blessing.  He will.
