What Are You Saying?

I remember New Year’s eve I was very excited about going into 2024.  I knew it was going to be THE best year ever – and 2023 was pretty awesome!

Why can I say this? How can I know? It is a CHOICE.  I choose to believe what God says in the Bible about my life and then speak what He says. God says I overcome all adversity, all trials, all sickness, all things contrary to His Word. A-L-L.

Another gem God said for us to do, “This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.” Joshua 1:8 (RSV)

All around you are calamities – storms, natural disasters, sickness, disease, and crazy people. YOUR words will bring you through victoriously or YOUR words will cause you trouble.

It doesn’t matter if YOU believe your words aren’t that important. It doesn’t matter if you believe that you can make bad statements. It doesn’t matter if you believe you can joke about bad things or if you are a Gloomy Gus pessimist who sees a glass half full and leaking.

It doesn’t matter if YOU believe it or not, the devil does. He hears every word you say and works hard to bring the negative ones to pass in your life (John 10:10). All he has to do is get you to agree with his negative words and then speak them Then he has captured you through your own mouth – Proverbs 12:13, “you are snared by your words”.

In the Message translation, Proverbs 18:21 states, “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit–you choose.”

Talk God’s words (the Bible) when times are good and talk it when times seem to be bad (your words will change that). Talk it when you have and talk it when you don’t seem to have. Talk UP when you feel down. Talk healing and health when you feel sick. Talk provision when your bank account is laughing at you.

I heard a minister say it this way, “Talk the Word ALL THE TIME. Live the Word – the just shall live by faith. If you’re not living by faith, you’re not going to make it. You may ‘get by’ on mercy but that’s all you’re going to do – get by.”

Speak Life.
