THE DEVIL IS ALWAYS A LIAR

One of the best things my mom ever taught me was how important it was to understand THE DEVIL IS A LIAR. I’m so glad I was able to pass that on to my son at a young age.

I can’t remember what the occasions was – I believe I was in my 20’s and it was about what seemed to be an impossible healing.  Doctors had told me what I had was incurable. It wouldn’t kill me but I would always be in pain and couldn’t have children.

I was bemoaning their report – and all the wrong thoughts and negative whispers in my head – to my mom and she stopped me cold. She asked me, “What does the Bible say?  I replied, “By His whip marks I was healed.”

Then I started to explain how I believed but was still in pain. I also still had all the symptoms. My mom surprised me by replying “So? So what? And you are NOT believing with that confession.”  Now I’m thinking my mom doesn’t love me very much if she doesn’t care I’m in pain and have symptoms of sickness.

She went on. “Who says you were healed? Who is all about healing in the Bible?” I replied, “God.”

Mom said, “Exactly. If God said you were healed, who is saying you’re sick?

I was thinking “the doctors” but I knew where she was going with this. So of course I replied, “the devil.” Then she quoted John 8:44:

John 8:44 (TPT) – “You are the offspring of your father, the devil, and you serve your father very well, passionately carrying out his desires. He’s been a murderer right from the start! He never stood with the One who is the true Prince, for he’s full of nothing but lies—lying is his native tongue. He is a master of deception and the father of lies

And then she taught me that if the thoughts and whispers in my head were contrary to the Word of God, they are LIES. Needless to say, God healed me. I have the son to prove the devil was a liar!

So when Josh was young, I believe the 4th grade, some bullies were teasing him. He came home upset and said they were calling him a liar.

I asked him what it was about and if it was true – was he a liar? “NO.” I reminded him if he wasn’t a liar then were they telling the truth? ‘NO.”  Then if he wasn’t a liar, was what they said important? “NO.” It didn’t matter what they said as long as it wasn’t true and God knew the truth.

He eventually stopped letting things like that bother him. Blessed! Never listen to the father of all lies. If something is contrary to God’s Word, you can be sure who’s talking to you – stop listening to lies! Start quoting the Truth!
